When we talk about young people in working life, we often reflect on the values of the younger generation and their attitudes towards working life. How we talk about working life has a major impact on the expectations young people have at the start of their careers. We hear worrying news about young people in working life on various channels. In this magazine, we want to discuss the theme from a different perspective.

In the past, young people entered working life even too early, as a column in this magazine shows, but nowadays, many young people encounter difficulties in transitioning to working life. We can all influence this.

This magazine describes how the need for community has been solved with a mobile app, but people’s expectations of community vary significantly. For some, a mobile app meets this need, while for others, the need for community cannot be fulfilled without personal encounters in daily work. Working together helps us develop and learn from our colleagues. Young people bring new ideas to working life that everyone should listen to.
We are all responsible for highlighting opportunities and remembering to guide and encourage young people in the early stages of working life. We can contribute to building a good working life from the first job and throughout a career.
