Multi-location work requires cooperation between management and employees
A well-managed and healthy work community can benefit from multi-location work in many ways,” says Juha Eskelinen, Researcher.

Generative AI applications are still very new in working life, but their use is becoming increasingly common, especially in specialist fields,” says Professor Atte Oksanen.
“User-friendly artificial intelligence applications have developed rapidly over the past few years.
The change has been rapid and the development is tremendous – we are currently experiencing a very interesting AI transformation. For example, Google Gemini, OpenAI ChatGPT and Microsoft’s Copilot are constantly producing new versions.
The use of various text, sound and image generators has become more common because they are simple and easy to use. In addition, various AI assistants have appeared to make work easier, such as Google’s NotebookLM.
Although employees are interested in the use of artificial intelligence, its actual diverse use is still limited. Approximately 60% of employees have tried ChatGPT or Copilot, for example, but just under a quarter of them use AI applications regularly. On the other hand, there are a lot of people who have not even tried the apps yet.
Of course, artificial intelligence does not bring benefits to all fields. AI applications are most commonly used in specialist fields such as IT, programming, marketing, communications and media, as well as science and research. Senior salaried employees, men and young people use AI the most.
These issues were highlighted in our study “AI transformation in working life”, which started in the spring and surveyed the use of artificial intelligence in the workplace among Finnish employees from different sectors.
If AI applications are used responsibly, they offer many opportunities to increase productivity and, in part, also work quality.
At best, applications serve as conversation partners for the experts, but you should not completely outsource your own work to the machine. People still need to learn the basics and be able to solve problems themselves.
Artificial intelligence can free up employees’ time from mechanical work for innovation and development. Routine tasks can be completed quicker and there is time to develop new ones.”

Five years have passed since the outbreak of the pandemic. During the pandemic, remote work became significantly more common in order to control infections, but now the situation has gradually returned to normal. But what is the new normal?
People discuss the benefits of working remotely a lot, but the office also has its good sides.
The COVID-19 pandemic hit us unexpectedly and hard, and its effects were felt all over the world. In the fight against COVID-19, Finland chose isolation tactics; closing the borders between regions, closing down restaurants and cinemas and switching to remote working were ways to combat the virus and stop its progression. The remote work phenomenon
